I prefer Israel's version. His beautiful voice is so unexpected coming from his frame. He has a special quality about him that I am not sure what it is exactly, but he seems very gentle and loving. The Hawaiian backdrop also appeals to me as I listen to him sing that song.

Israel's voice is velvety and eerie - really unusual - as was his writing changes to the classic. Those two elements made me attend closer to the meaning of this song. Jason improved on its delivery by adding the falsetto right where it was needed, creating more variation and emphasis (it needed to soar - and Jason knew it!).

I would be interesting for me to hear others describe Jason's voice. It is quite good, recognizable, I never tire of hearing it and I like it very much too. But I am thinking his voice is not really the unusual value he adds to his singing. For me, it is his delivery. He incorporates an emotional attitude in lyrics without overdoing it. He has the instinctive gift of the fine touch in expression.
